Lynx

Take on the role of a late 18th-century fur trapper in the Hudson's Bay region of northern Ontario, exploiting the ecological cycle between lynx and hare while competing with other trappers. Each season, players simultaneously choose actions such as trapping hare, trapping lynx, selling pelts, or pursuing ventures. The Hudson's Bay Company supplies traps and requires all pelts to be sold exclusively to them. Hare and lynx populations repopulate after each season, but over-trapping hares can reduce the lynx population, making lynx trapping more difficult and costly. Players begin in debt and aim to earn enough over 14 seasons to become free trappers. Beginner and advanced modes vary how far ahead actions are planned.
