Players take the roles of Viking poets, building family trees to describe their personal sagas and heroic ancestry. Each player receives a saga with required traits and develops a seven-card lineage of heroes, whose dominant and recessive traits determine which inheritance markers can be placed. On each turn, players draw up to four cards, may use an embellishment based on the color and generation of their youngest hero, then add a hero to their family tree. The first player to place all required inheritance markers completes their saga and wins.
