Palet

A traditional French throwing game similar to boules, played with cast-iron, slightly convex disks and a soft-wooden board. From a distance of five metres, players throw their disks toward a small target disk, aiming to place them closer than their opponents’ throws. Each disk nearer the target scores one point, and the first player to reach 12 points wins. As the board develops dents and divots through play, its changing surface adds unpredictability to subsequent throws.
