The Fate of Reiters: Five Battles of the French Wars of Religion

A grand-tactical wargame depicting five battles of the French Wars of Religion between 1562 and 1587. Scenarios include Cognat, Dormans, Auneau, Vimory, and Métrieux, covering conflicts between Huguenots and Catholics, and later Royalists and the Catholic League. Players command formations of gendarmes, cuirassiers, reiters, harquebusiers, pikemen, mercenaries, and artillery across area maps. The alternating-turn system includes defensive reactions such as fire, counter-charges, and tactical retreats. Combat models charges, pike engagements, artillery, and the coordination of shock and missile fire, with optional rules for orders, caracoles, stragglers, and looting.
