This Town Ain't Big Enough for the 2-4 of Us

A micro-sized strategy game for 2–4 players, set in a town where cowboys compete to claim territory. Players place tiles to create areas, which may contain their own cowboys, opponents’ cowboys, or cowboys from every player. When an area is completely enclosed by fences, it scores points. Silver bars allow a player to rearrange a tile that has not yet been locked in place. Games take approximately 10–15 minutes.

A simple short tile-laying game PROS - Easy to explain and play. - It does take 15 mins, no more. - Very small footprint. CONS - Way too simple for gamers, probably even with its expansions. - The scoring system seems to be more interesting than what it actually is. - There is no final or hidden scoring, so no climaz at the end of the game at all.

In this game players lay tiles into a central board similar to Carcassonne. In an interesting twist, each tile has player color icons printed on it. When areas complete, the player with the majority icons scores points based on who had second place. Then second scores for the number of third place icons. It's a marvelous hyper minimalization of this genre of game that I enjoy so much I got a second copy for the extra set of tiles. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
