Players take the roles of Viking jarls leading settlements on the island of Fjörnheim. They raid villages to gather resources and unique treasures, resolve battles using fixed attack and defense values with dice rolls, then use their spoils to recruit warriors, build ships and construct new buildings. Each season introduces an event that can help or hinder the settlements, while sacrifices and other actions affect the Gods’ Benevolence or Wrath. The game includes story-driven event and God cards inspired by Norse mythology. The first player to collect seven Favour of the Gods points reaches the Golden Gates and wins.
