Western Desert Force: The Desert Campaign 1940-1942

This game covers the North African campaign from the Italian advance into Egypt in 1940 through the defeat of the Axis forces in 1942. Players command historical German, Italian, British, Commonwealth, and Allied units across a hex-based map stretching from El Agheila to Alexandria. The Allied player must defend Egypt and the Suez Canal, while the Axis player seeks to cut this vital route and drive the opposing forces from North Africa. Units range from battalions to divisions, with supply, movement, combat, and random events shaping the campaign. Games typically take two to four hours and offer strong solitaire play.
