King of Tokyo ملك توكيو

Players take on the roles of giant monsters, robots, and aliens battling over control of Tokyo. Each turn a player rolls six dice up to three times, keeping or rerolling dice to gain victory points, energy, healing, or attack values that damage other players. The player occupying Tokyo scores bonus victory points but cannot heal and must be attacked by all other players. Energy is spent on power cards that grant one-time or ongoing effects, altering dice, damage, or other abilities. The game ends when a player reaches 20 victory points or when all other players are eliminated.

Own it along with the Halloween and Power Up expansions. Great for casual gamers! Of course, luck is a deciding factor, but rerolls are a BIG part of the game. Players who are killed soon may be hanging there watching in boredom if the game lasts for a bit longer.

How do the rerolls work — can I set dice aside and then change my mind later?

You may roll the dice up to three times; on the 2nd roll you can set aside results you like and reroll the others, and on the 3rd roll you may even reroll dice you previously set aside (you choose which dice to roll each time). (page 4)

How do the 1/2/3 faces score — what does three-of-a-kind plus extra matching dice give me?

If you roll three-of-a-kind of 1, 2, or 3 you gain that many Victory Points (★), and each additional matching die beyond the three gives you +1★. (page 4; example page 5)

If I'm in Tokyo, do heart (♥) dice heal me?

No — hearts rolled while you are in Tokyo do not heal you; only Power cards can give hearts to a Monster in Tokyo. (page 4; effects of Tokyo page 5)

When do I have to enter Tokyo, and how does Tokyo Bay work with 5–6 players?

If no one is in Tokyo you must enter Tokyo City when you would enter; with 5–6 players, if Tokyo City is occupied but Tokyo Bay is empty you must enter Tokyo Bay instead, and both spaces count as "in Tokyo." Entering Tokyo immediately gives you 1★ and starting your turn in Tokyo gives you 2★. (page 5)

If I roll claws (smash), who takes the damage — do monsters in Tokyo smash each other?

Each claw causes Monsters not in your same location to lose 1♥: if you are in Tokyo claws hit all Monsters outside Tokyo, and if you are outside Tokyo claws hit all Monsters in Tokyo; Monsters in Tokyo do not damage each other. (page 4; effects of Tokyo page 5)

How do Power card purchases and sweeping work — can I buy multiple cards?

You may buy one or more of the three face-up Power cards by spending the Energy cost shown, replacing bought cards immediately; alternatively you may spend 2 Energy to discard (sweep) all three face-up cards and reveal three new ones. (page 6)
