Play as Roman magistrates maneuvering for influence across five annual turns, each divided into seven phases of actions. Players recruit and deploy personages to manage civic duties, political offices, and economic ventures while balancing cooperation and rivalry, since no one player controls all aspects of Roman society. Random and trackable events such as epidemics, persecutions, and decadence create risks that players must prepare for and mitigate. The game resolves political contests, resource management, and event responses in a compact playtime designed to capture strategic tension in a short session.
