Unconditional Surrender

This historical wargame simulates the Confederate counterattack on Fort Donelson in February 1862, after Union forces under Ulysses S. Grant invest the fort. Players direct Confederate and Union forces as they maneuver and fight around the fort and its approaches, with the outcome determining whether the garrison breaks through or surrenders. The battle’s result can alter the course of the campaign in Tennessee, affecting the opening of the Cumberland River and the subsequent fall of Nashville.
