Middle Kingdom

Outwit and outbid rivals as warlords competing for influence in ancient China after the collapse of the Han Dynasty. Each round, players use Bid Cards to claim Dynasty Cards representing warriors, nobles, bureaucrats, peasants, and merchants, while competing for control of the Emperor, Heir, Palace, Market, and Harvest. Special cards provide advantages such as revealing bids or claiming an unclaimed card, while the Celestial Dragon can disrupt plans. Players balance their influence across the social ranks before the Emperor dies; the player with the most influence ascends the throne.
