Els jugadors desenvolupen un assentament fronterer fins a convertir-lo en una ciutat funcional, licitant per oportunitats de construcció i gastant cubs de recursos per construir estructures de diferents tipus. Cada ronda inclou una fase de subhasta per reclamar tipus d’edifici, seguida d’una fase de construcció en què els jugadors paguen recursos per aixecar edificis que proporcionen habilitats, ingressos o punts de victòria; alguns efectes requereixen assignar-hi un treballador. La partida dura deu rondes, més una oportunitat final d’obtenir ingressos i comerciar abans de puntuar. La puntuació prové dels edificis construïts, les bonificacions atorgades pels edificis i els beneficis de vendre recursos. Una gestió eficaç dels recursos —de nou tipus diferents— i un control acurat del deute determinen qui obté la puntuació més alta.

This is a auction/worker placement game. The pieces are really nice and the game runs very smoothly. It feels like every aspect is well thought out. You bid on the rights to construct buildings of a specific type, then if you win, you get to add one of those available buildings to your board, paying all construction costs. Most of those buildings have worker action spots than you can then use to generate points and resources. It's simply a pleasure to play, but for the best experience it does need 4 players exactly. The experience of this game is really strong, and I absolutely love the theme, and I love working the tiles after the auction phase. The only big downside for me is that the game doesn't change much session to session. The only variability comes from which tiles you win the bid for. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
