SNCF: France & Germany

Els jugadors construeixen i influeixen en companyies ferroviàries col·locant locomotores de fusta en un mapa de França i gestionant una mà de fitxes de motor de colors que representen participacions. En el seu torn, un jugador pot augmentar el valor d’una companyia afegint-hi d’1 a 5 locomotores de la reserva comuna a la seva xarxa, o bé intercanviar una locomotora de la seva cartera personal per una o dues de la reserva d’una companyia. Les ciutats del mapa augmenten el valor d’una companyia quan hi estan connectades; els hexàgons rurals no ho fan. La partida acaba quan una companyia arriba a Marsella o només queda una companyia a la reserva, i les puntuacions finals multipliquen el valor de cada companyia pel nombre de locomotores d’aquell color que té cada jugador.

This is a quick filler stockmarket game, where players chose to either put 1-5 wooden trains on the board, or return 1 train from behind their screen to take 2 trains of a different color. At the end of the game, the trains you tucked away are worth whatever the value of that company has gotten to, based on the spaces they were placed on the board. There's some nice push and pull in terms of trying to benefit from other player's actions, and guessing who has what color trains tucked away. The setup is a little annoying for a game of this length, and I'm not sure if I like this better than Steel Driver, but overall, not a bad game. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
