Tide of Fortune

A two-player operational wargame covering the Allied campaign in northern Belgium and the Low Countries during September and October 1944, including the Arnhem operation. Players command regiments and brigades across a 3 km-per-hex map, with turns representing one or two days. During the Operations phase, players bid for initiative and alternate activating divisions to issue orders such as Assault, Advance, and Maneuver. The opposing player can react to movements and conduct spoiling attacks, while combat losses may affect a formation’s headquarters as well as its units. The system uses relatively low counter density and emphasizes maneuver.
