18Chesapeake
Players act as investors in the Chesapeake region and beyond, buying private and minor companies early and later purchasing shares in public railroad companies. Public companies build track, operate trains to generate revenue, and choose between paying dividends or retaining earnings to finance expansion. The largest shareholder controls each public company as its president, creating a recurring tension between presidential control and minority shareholder interests. Play supports two to six players and typically lasts around two to three and a half hours depending on experience and pace.
