Captain Flip
Hoist a flag, recruit a colorful crew, and collect gold coins across several voyages. On a turn, draw a tile from a bag, decide to keep it or flip it, then place it on a personal board to build a crew pattern. Each tile represents one of nine characters and provides scoring opportunities based on placement and combinations. Four different player boards introduce distinct tactical objectives, encouraging pattern-building and planning as players aim to maximize coin income by the end of the game.

If I flip the tile I draw, can I still choose which side to keep?
No. If you flip it, you must keep the new Character. (Rulebook, p. 2)
Do I have to fill a column from the bottom, and can I leave gaps in a row?
Place each Character in the lowest empty space of any column. Columns don’t have to start on the bottom row, and rows can have empty spaces. (Rulebook, pp. 2–3)
When do I resolve my Character’s effect and the bonus on the space?
After placing the Character, resolve its immediate effect first. Then, if it is on the highest space of a column, apply that space’s immediate bonus, if any. (Rulebook, p. 2)
When someone completes their fourth column, does the game end right away?
Usually, finish the round. If the last player is the one who completes their fourth column, the game ends immediately. (Rulebook, p. 3)
Does my Monkey have to be next to another tile to use its flip effect?
No. You may place it without an adjacent tile, but then you simply don’t apply its Flip effect. (Rulebook, p. 4)
