Checkers
Two players alternate moving disc-shaped pieces diagonally across an 8×8 checkered board. Pieces move one space at a time on dark squares; when an opponent’s piece lies adjacent with an empty square beyond, a jump captures that piece and removes it from the board. Jumping captures are mandatory when available, which creates tactical exchanges and multi-jump sequences. Pieces are eliminated or immobilized until one side has no pieces or no legal moves, ending the game.
