A 1–2 player historical strategy game about ruling a 17th-century Spanish and Portuguese empire. Players manage military, diplomatic, and economic actions: recruit tercios and fleets, garrison colonies, dispatch ambassadors, and assign nobles to lead armies and govern territories. Turns span several years and players face event-driven challenges from rival European powers while attempting to secure heirs, patrons, and court prestige. Multiple scenarios and campaigns cover short conflicts and the full reign, with solitaire and cooperative play. Loss conditions include collapsed prestige or enlightenment, or the monarch’s sudden death.
