2021 · Deduction
Mantis Falls
Players take on the roles of witnesses trying to escape a mob-controlled town while one of them may secretly be an assassin. Each round players play cards facedown from hand to move along dangerous streets, manage resources, and react to hazards that threaten the party. Hidden role elements and deduction drive interaction: players discuss plans, defend choices, and bluff to mask intentions while weighing cooperation against the risk of betrayal. The game alternates between fully cooperative and traitor-led scenarios, so timing, hand management, and reading others determine whether the group survives or falls apart.

andycted7.7 After sitting on the shelf, waiting to be sold, for a couple of years, finally played quite a few times now. It’s relatively quick, although the parsing of cards for a “get 10 cards, discard 10 cards” is borderline idiotic. There are nights where it will be raucous fun, but it’s also very table dependants and the core mechanics are a tad flat and could be smoother
