The Thing: The Boardgame

Players take on roles at an Antarctic research outpost where one participant begins as an alien impostor and the rest are human crew. The alien attempts to infect others or sabotage the base, while humans maintain systems, feed themselves, and carry out room-specific actions to keep the boiler, generator and facilities running. The board reproduces the outpost’s rooms; players move between them, perform actions tied to each location, and investigate or accuse based on behavior. The game mixes hidden-role deduction, resource and engine management, and limited escape options as humans try to evacuate while the impostor seeks to thwart or blend in.
