1993 · Abstract Strategy
Pylos
Players take turns placing small spheres on a 4×4 grid to build a layered pyramid, then stack pieces onto completed 2×2 squares to create higher levels. Forming a 2×2 square of one’s color lets that player reclaim one or two unburdened pieces to their reserve; creating a mixed square permits stacking a piece onto it. Play continues until a single piece is placed on the topmost level, which ends the game. The game emphasizes spatial planning, conserving and reclaiming pieces, and timing moves to lock or free pieces across multiple levels.
