2009 · Abstract Strategy
Sumeria
Players compete to elevate city-states in ancient Sumer by deploying traders along trade routes. Each turn a player concentrates traders in one city-state to increase its influence, while shifts in influence cause another city-state to lose power. Scoring occurs at the end of each dynasty, and players aim to control the most powerful city-states when those scoring rounds occur. Timing and coordinated movement matter, since a city-state’s prominence can change rapidly as players redirect trade.
