2018 · City Building
The Estates
Players act as real estate investors competing to develop a new urban district along a riverfront. On each turn they bid in auctions to acquire building tiles and place them into a shared three-row-by-four-column grid, trying to arrange and complete rows to score value. Completed rows score positive points while any buildings left in an uncompleted row score negative points; special effects can double the value of a row. The game combines auction strategy, tile placement, and risk management as players balance aggressive bidding with the danger of overbuilding and losing investments.
