Vinci

1999 · Territory Building

Vinci

Players control a succession of ancient European civilizations, using wooden tokens and civilization tiles that grant unique abilities and traits. Each turn players expand their active civilization across a map, conquering regions and scoring points for territory and bonuses from their civilization’s powers. At any time a player can put a civilization into decline to select a new one, beginning a new era with a fresh set of strengths and scoring opportunities. The game proceeds with repeated cycles of expansion and decline until a target score triggers final rounds, after which the highest total wins.

It has an abstract feel, but I love the civilization tiles, and how they mathmatically work out.
