Set in 5th-century B.C. Greece, the game places players in the roles of leaders guiding Athens during its rise to wealth and power. They work to maintain the city’s prosperity while facing challenges from within and beyond its borders. Play lasts up to 14 rounds, each divided into People Management, Base, Action, and Event phases. Players expand their base, manage the population, raise armies, trade goods, hold festivals, and respond to events. Success depends on careful planning alongside a degree of uncertainty.
