Breaking the Chains: War in the South China Sea

This simulation covers a hypothetical military conflict in the South and East China Seas around 2021, beginning with China and a Southeast Asian nation and potentially expanding to involve Australia, India, Japan, the United States, and other regional powers. Players’ decisions determine which nations join the opposing coalitions. On a hex map, players maneuver air, ground, and naval units for up to 14 nations across daily turns, resolving combat with a universal strike system in which missile defense is central. Special chits represent black operations, cyber warfare, and political developments. Naval operations use detection and evasion rolls rather than hidden movement, supporting solitaire play.
