In the Name of Justice: The Battle of Lewes, 1264

A low-complexity grand tactical simulation of the Battle of Lewes, a pivotal clash in the Second Barons’ War and the political struggle to limit royal power in England. Players command the forces of King Henry III or Earl Simon Montfort, directing cavalry, infantry, archers, and staff slingers during the battle on May 14, 1264. A chit-pull system models the uncertainty of medieval combat. The game ends when Henry or Montfort is captured, or when Montfort achieves a moral victory by evading capture. Historical and optional what-if rules provide additional ways to explore the battle.
