The Arab conquest of the Levant, 636–656. Two armies reorganize and confront each other across Syria, Egypt, Asia Minor, and the approaches to Constantinople. The Byzantine player must retake Syria while defending Egypt and Asia Minor and managing a succession crisis. The Arab player must secure the Syrian end of the trade route to Mecca, capture Egypt, and potentially seize Constantinople. Two scenarios and a campaign cover the period from the battle of Yarmouk to the assassination of the third caliph.
