Paris 1800

In nineteenth-century Paris, one player leads Haussmann and the police in a program of modernization, while the other players represent Romantic figures defending the old quarters and rallying public discontent. Players move their characters through the city and take faction-specific actions. The Modern faction obtains permits and architectural projects, renovates districts, pacifies revolts, and arrests Romantics. The Romantics spread anger among Parisians, organize revolts, seek inspiration, go into exile or hiding, and pursue revolutionary objectives. Both sides can influence the magazine in Montmartre and alter the movement order. The faction that reaches 20 victory points first, or leads when the game ends in 1910, wins.
