Pax Romana

Four ancient powers vie for control of the Mediterranean world from 300 BC to the end of the 1st century BC. Players raise armies, colonize regions, repel barbarian incursions and manage political stability at home while pursuing strategic dominance. Play uses a marker-driven sequence that creates surprise and opportunity, and a deck of event cards that inject historical events and calamities. Multiple scenarios range from short two-player clashes to full multi-decade campaigns for two to four players, with an advanced ruleset that adds additional historical detail. Components include a map, event cards, hundreds of counters and supporting play aids.
