Simurgh

Players lead powerful clans in a fantastical world where humans and dragons live, hunt, and wage war together. They breed dragons, use their special abilities, gather resources, recruit Spearmen and Dragonriders, and build their house’s power. Each turn allows one Main Action and any number of Free Actions. Players place Vassals on available Action Spaces to gain resources, exchange assets for Power Points, add Vassals to their house, or breed new types of Simurgh. Players collectively expand the board with Action Tiles that provide new spaces or score combinations of dragons. When all scoring spaces are filled, the round ends and the player with the most Power Points wins.

This is a worker placement game where action spots can be added and removed from the board through player actions. This is a really interesting idea, and might have really worked well if the rest of the game came together a little better. You are essentially doing resource management in service of collecting sets of dragon tiles which are the measure of endgame points. The dragon tiles themselves are color coded but the components aren't super clear as to which dragon is which color, which does cause needless ambiguity in terms of being able to see who has what. The game can also crawl if players are too aggressive removing action space tiles, as some resources are hard to come by through the central board alone. There are some great, innovative ideas here, it just never came together into an enjoyable play experience. :nostar: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment

This is an interesting worker placement game. My only issue is that it ends too quickly, even when playing the long version of the game.
