Ascension at Firepeak

Rival wizards compete to claim the vacant throne of the Archmage by completing the Mighty Rite of Authority. Players build a legal Pattern of ten creatures beneath their Wizard, arranging creatures from six clans according to adjacency, leadership, and power rules. Each turn provides two actions, such as recruiting creatures, capturing opponents’ minions, rearranging a Pattern, raiding dungeons, brainwashing prisoners, or casting spells. Creatures in a personal Dungeon fuel spells and can be sacrificed to research new ones, creating a balance between strengthening a Pattern and using resources for magic. The game ends when a player completes the required Pattern or the Recruitment deck runs out; the player with the most powerful Pattern wins in the latter case.
