Long Haul 1983

Set in 1983, this solo roleplaying and journaling game follows a long-haul truck driver making a dangerous journey home through an emptied world. Each day brings treacherous highways, threatening encounters, and the psychological effects of isolation. At day’s end, the driver finds a payphone and leaves a message for the most important person in their life, who never answers. Using a deck of cards, four six-sided dice, and a device for recording voice, players create a narrative through evocative prompts, creative choices, and branching endings. Recorded calls and journal entries form a lasting record of the journey, supported by an optional soundtrack of ambient, soul, jazz, pop, and punk music.
