Briscola Chiamata

A five-player trick-taking game in which each player is dealt eight cards. Players bid on the number of points they expect to score, with each pass eliminating that player from further bidding. The winning bidder declares the trump suit and calls a specific trump card; its holder becomes the bidder’s hidden partner, while the other three players form the opposing team without initially knowing one another. In the advanced version, players first bid on the rank of the called trump card. If bidding reaches the lowest rank, players instead bid the score required to win before the final bidder declares the trump suit. The declarer and partner must then collect at least the bid amount, or 61 points if no higher target is set.
