Assassins, Templars, Rosicrucians, and Illuminates pursue a newly appeared grail, following an ancient plan to bring it to its designated place. Each player may move any pawn on the board, while secretly investing influence to gain control over them. Players take turns moving a pawn or adding hidden influence. A move can be rejected by revealing greater influence over the pawn, and concealed pawns can be removed by a player who controls the pawn exposing them. Influence is limited, and victory goes to the player who controls the grail’s bearer rather than the player who brings the grail home.
