Grand Army of the Republic

A two-player strategic wargame covering the American Civil War from spring 1861. One player leads the Union and the other the Confederacy, using economic resources to build land and naval forces, deploy corps and generals, and contest control across a map spanning the United States from the Indian Territory to the Atlantic and from Pennsylvania to the Gulf of Mexico. Armies move by area movement, while ironclads and blockade runners add naval options. Special abilities, general cards, and battle cards influence engagements, with supplies and the pace of combat shaping the campaign. A full campaign and two shorter scenarios cover different periods of the war.
