Majolica
During the Victorian Era, colorful glazed majolica pottery spreads through industrial production and trade across Europe and East Asia. Players collect tiles from the outer sides of a 4 × 4 grid and place them in one of four workshops. When a workshop’s color ratio matches its requirement, the tiles can be delivered to a design card, with any remaining tiles carried over to the next workshop. Players arrange design cards and recycle leftover tiles to complete patterns and score points.

Evan0.9 In this game you collect tiles by depleting production spaces in a central area. Then the tiles go into boxes on your personal player board. Once the boxes meet the printed color requirements you can move a fixed number of them into a recipe card above the space. Then the remaining tiles flush into the box to the right. I can see the clever engine building present in this game but it's a frustrating process to get a good sense of. The requirements to get the tiles onto the recipe cards is often at odds with what color tiles you are able to produce leading to a lot of wasted tiles. Once the engine is running it doesn't feel very satisfying. There's also a bizarre mechanism where the round ends once x tiles have been depleted from the center which leads to uneven numbers of turns between players for no strategic reason I can see. The reset process involves picking up all the central tiles and shuffling them face down which happens very often and becomes an annoying process. This is a pass for me. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ☆ Low or mitigatable luck elements ☆☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
