Miseries & Misfortunes
In 1648 Paris, France struggles through the Thirty Years’ War, royal succession, mounting taxes, and the threat of revolt. Players take the roles of impoverished adventurers seeking influence and survival as agents of Cardinal Mazarin, opponents of the Crown, or merchants profiting from the turmoil. This roleplaying game for three to five players uses a foundation based on early fantasy adventure games, adding lifepaths, skills, social combat, and an ongoing search for truth.
