Players colonize an island over two independent rounds by exploring face-down tiles and placing buildings in their color. Each turn a player either plays a traveling card to reveal tiles and build homes, churches and lighthouses, or plays a scoring card that scores a particular building type, resource, or board condition for all players. Spaces near the central volcano provide higher-value placements but risk being cleared if an eruption scoring card appears. Between rounds, players keep lessons from the first to adjust their placement and scoring strategy for the second.
