Swords and Bagpipes

Fight for Scottish freedom or betray the clans for gold and safety. Players lead Scottish clans during the First War of Scottish Independence, hiring troops and sending them into battle as English forces invade each round. Each player secretly chooses whether to support England or Scotland, then choices are revealed simultaneously and strengths are compared. Betrayal usually brings more gold, but if England conquers Scotland, victory goes to the player who betrayed the fewest times. Otherwise, the richest player wins.
