알라카르테

알라카르테 is a board game for 2–4 players. It plays in 30 minutes and is meant for ages 8 and up. Ludoya players call it best with 4. It is rated 5.8 out of 10 by 6 Ludoya reviewers.

Players act as eccentric chefs racing to cook precise recipes using a miniature pan and a hotplate on the table. Each turn a player chooses to turn up the heat (via a die that can affect all hotplates), season the dish by tipping small bottles of colored pellets into the pan, or attempt to steal another cook’s in-progress recipe. Over-seasoning (more than two pellets of a color) spoils the dish and forces it to be discarded. The game resolves cooking through dexterity and push-your-luck elements, and the 2009 edition adds alternate victory conditions, extra recipes, and revised rules.
