Great Wall

A two-player abstract strategy game of archery and positioning set atop the Great Wall of China. Each player commands ten shielded warriors, deploying them from reserve and maneuvering them across the battlements. Warriors are protected from the rear and must be attacked from the front or an exposed side, making facing as important as movement. On a turn, a player places, moves, shoots along a warrior’s facing, or spins to strike all adjacent fields. Arrows can chain through fallen warriors, while shields reflect or deflect attacks and friendly fire is possible. An enemy on the central Legendary Field blocks reinforcements. The game ends when a player has fewer than four warriors remaining on the wall and in reserve.
