La Bérézina 1812

A Napoleonic operational-level wargame recreating the fighting around the Berezina river in late November 1812. Players command French and Russian corps led by historical commanders as they contest crossings between Borisov and Studenka. The French player attempts to build and defend bridges and force a crossing while the Russian player seeks to block and destroy the retreating forces. Mechanics emphasize bridge construction, river crossings and the movement and effects of stragglers (‘trainards’). The box provides five one-day scenarios plus a two-day campaign covering actions from November 21–29, 1812.
