Rice Wars

Players take the roles of daimyo, noble heads competing for control of the island of Tokuno in fourteenth-century Japan. They manage resources, assign peasants to rice fields, deploy ashigaru troops against neighboring houses, consult Imperial Advisors, and hire ronin for duels with opposing daimyo. A two-sided board provides a quicker game for 2–4 players or a longer, more involved variant for 3–5 players. The game includes cards, tokens, wooden markers, daimyo and advisor cards, ryo banknotes, and a rulebook.
