Players investigate an isolated New England town plagued by supernatural occurrences, facing cultists, monsters and eldritch events drawn from Lovecraftian horror. Each player builds a deck of investigators, spells and items while recruiting allies and acquiring permanent equipment to strengthen their capabilities. Gameplay blends deck-building with scenario-driven Mythos locations that introduce new challenges each session. Players balance acquiring resources and combating threats as the town’s panic and the advancing Mythos escalate toward a climactic resolution.
