Fortes fortuna iuvat: Plinius adversus Vesuvium

The player takes the role of Pliny the Elder, commanding the Misenum fleet to rescue inhabitants during the Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD. Play uses a standard deck of cards revealed one at a time: red cards grant actions (moving people, ships, or Pliny's liburna) while black cards advance smoke and pyroclastic flows that threaten zones. The objective is to maximize rescued survivors by maneuvering quadriremes and relocating civilians before zones are overwhelmed. The game is solitaire, lightweight, and resolves through card draws and tactical movement decisions.
