18SJ: Railways in the Frozen North

A railway-investment game set in early Swedish and Norwegian rail development where two to six players buy and sell shares, run corporations and build mainline track across a Nordic map. The game includes a mechanism for nationalizing public companies that gradually reduces the number of active corporations, forcing players to adapt their portfolios. Players manage stockholdings, operate trains, time train purchases and invest in private and public companies to maximize cash and personal payouts while the corporate landscape shifts toward national ownership.
