Players command the forces of rival noble houses in tactical, scenario-driven pitched battles set in the war-torn Seven Kingdoms. Each game uses a battle plan that sets up the map, unit placements, resources, special rules, and victory conditions; play proceeds over several rounds of alternating turns as commanders activate infantry, cavalry, archers, and special characters. Hands are shaped by a randomized Leadership deck of tactics and abilities tied to the characters on the field, and modular double-sided maps with overlays let players replay published scenarios or design custom engagements. Plastic unit bases with attachable banners track activation and present clear battlefield information during play.
