Bomber Command

According to the rules Bomber Command is "a simulation loosely based on the RAF's night bomber offensive against the Third Reich." In the standard game the RAF player launches ten bombing raids. Before each raid the German player receives six random units and deploys them on the map face-down. The British player then receives three units and random and programs the raid they will carry out using a copy of the map and the Raid Details Chart. Once the raid begins the British units carry out their program and the German units may react. However, each German unit has a limited number of moves it can make during the raid. The German player knows how much damage the bombers do to the cities, but they do not know how much damage the bombers take from either flak or nighfighter attacks; both players see the die rolls but the British player chooses one of two combat results tables to use for the raid and the German player does not know which one it is. Victory points are awarded to the British for damaging cities and to the Germans for damaging plans and for British raids in which fewer than two planes are used. Since the German player does not know how much damage they are doing (and may not find out how many planes are used in a raid) their points are hidden from them until the end of the game.
