Don't Mess with Cthulhu Deluxe

Players secretly belong to one of two opposing teams: Investigators who try to prevent an ancient horror from awakening, or Cultists who try to bring it into the open. Roles are hidden and some players know more than others, creating social deduction and bluffing as the core interaction. Play proceeds over four rounds of hidden Investigation cards. Each round players receive, look at, and then shuffle face-down cards in front of them; actions on a shared action track allow players to reveal cards and force the unrevealed cards to be reshuffled and redistributed. Revealing the titular horror gives the Cultists an immediate win; discovering all Elder Signs gives the Investigators the win. Multiple games use Insanity tokens as a persistent penalty for losers.
